Boltshift's patient communication platform sits inside hospital workflows used by clinical staff throughout the day. A messaging API going down means nurses can't push updates, patients miss appointment reminders, and care coordination breaks down. The stakes demanded monitoring as reliable as the infrastructure it watched. But Boltshift's previous setup had gaps — blind spots in certain regions, no escalation logic, and an alert system that sometimes paged the wrong person three times or not at all.



Solution
Boltshift replaced their patchwork monitoring setup with Sola, establishing a consistent, tiered alerting system that routes every issue to the right person at the right time.
Sola monitors Boltshift's critical patient-facing endpoints every 60 seconds from 18 regions. Patient communication APIs and appointment systems trigger immediate escalation to senior engineering leadership. Supporting services follow standard on-call rotation. Every alert includes region, error type, affected service tier, and recent status history — giving engineers the context to act without needing to dig. Boltshift also uses Sola's status page to communicate transparently with hospital IT teams during maintenance windows.
